- Efficient asset management remains a challenge for asset owners worldwide as they navigate the transition to the digital era, necessitating a revolution in management approaches.
- Current asset monitoring is mainly conducted manually by site visits, and this causes significant cost to the asset owners.
- Interoperability between different monitoring systems and diverse data sources presents a challenge in helping asset owners understand the condition of their assets effectively. Finding solutions to ensure seamless data integration and interoperability will be essential for enhancing asset management practices.
- Asset owners often struggle to access real-time, meaningful, and easily understandable data, highlighting the importance of providing intuitive data visualization tools to facilitate accurate decision-making processes.
- Current technologies for Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) have progressed over the past few years, however, these have not been fully integrated in a Digital Twin. Integrating SHM real-time data into digital twins can provide asset owners with valuable insights for informed decision-making.
- Ensuring the sustainability and longevity of structures is important for asset owners, directly contributing to global sustainability goals such as achieving Australia’s Net-zero targets by minimizing the risk of structural failure and maximising their functionality.
