Zakhar (Zak) Lanetc is a petroleum engineer whose work spans reservoir simulation, computational modelling and the behaviour of fluids in porous and fractured materials. He completed a PhD in Petroleum Engineering at UNSW, where his research developed hybrid numerical methods to model multiphysics flow in coal. His research interests include coal seam gas, carbon capture and storage, geomechanics, and pore-scale and multiscale modelling. Zak is currently a Support Reservoir Engineer at Rock Flow Dynamics, supporting projects across Australia, New Zealand and Timor-Leste, including oil and gas, CCS and CSG applications.
