About

Wenjie Zhang is a Professor and Deputy Head of School (Research) in the School of Computer Science and Engineering at UNSW. Her research interests include spatial-temporal data analysis, uncertain data analysis and graph data processing. Since 2008, she has published more than 100 papers in top venues such as TKDE, TODS, VLDBJ, SIGMOD, VLDB, and ICDE. She received an Australian Research Council (ARC) Early Career Researcher Award in 2011 and the ARC Discovery Future Fellowship in 2021. In 2019, she received the prestigious Chris Wallace Award for her significant contributions to large-scale graph data processing.

Her research outputs include 12 award-winning works in international conferences. Since 2012, her research has been well supported by nine Australian Research Council grants and several other UNSW and industry funding. Her recent research focuses on algorithms, indexes, and systems in large scale graphs and their applications especially in social network analysis.  Wenjie is an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering (TKDE), an area chair for VLDB (International Conference on Very Large Data Bases) 2022, ICDE (International Conference on Data Engineering )2019 and CIKM (International Conference on Information and Knowledge Management) 2015, and a PC member for more than 60 international conferences and workshops.
