Dr. Ulrike Dackermann is a Lecturer in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UNSW Sydney. Dr. Dackermann’s research interests lie in structural health monitoring, non-destructive testing, artificial intelligence (AI), and timber engineering. She has expansive research experience in advanced AI-based signal processing, wave propagation analysis, modal analysis, material characterization, and sensor development. Through the integration of AI, she developed practical solutions for the structural health monitoring of bridges and the condition assessment of timber utility poles. Dr. Dackermann is an Executive Member of the Australian Network of Structural Health Monitoring (ANSHM), a member of the International Society for Structural Health Monitoring of Intelligent Infrastructure (ISHMII), Concrete Institute of Australia, and RILEM Technical Committees.
