Thesis Topic

Experimental Investigation of Pile Foundations Behaviour in Unsaturated Soils

About

Rahim Saffari is a PhD candidate at the University of New South Wales, Australia, within the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering. His research focuses on the behavior of pile foundations in partially saturated soil, a critical but often overlooked aspect of traditional design methods. Under the guidance of Professor Nasser Khalili, Rahim is dedicated to enhancing the design methodology for pile foundations in arid and semi-arid regions.
Rahim holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, awarded in 2012, and a master’s degree in geotechnical engineering, received in 2014, both from Shiraz University.  Throughout this academic journey, he gained valuable expertise in working with unsaturated soil and implementing environmentally sustainable soil improvement techniques.
