Martin Van Der Merwe has been in the automation industry for over 18 years as a registered engineer and IT professional.

Over his career with Emerson, he has delivered automation solutions across various industrial sectors including chemical, water & wastewater, power, mining and hydrocarbon industries. During his tenure as the Director for Emerson’s Systems and Software business unit in Australia & New Zealand, his team deployed several renewable energy projects. In his current role as the Sustainability and Decarbonisation Director for Asia Pacific, his mission is to support industry partners achieve their sustainability goals, adopting best practice and fit-for-purpose automation and software solutions.
