Ken (Shuangkai) Hou

Qualified structural engineer and Director of Operations with 20+ years’ experience (since 2005) across permanent/temporary works design, structural integrity audits, and project/construction management in high-rise and commercial buildings, including volumetric modular systems, as well as mining, light and heavy industry. Currently leading Space Labs Australia’s end-to-end modular operations, integrating client briefs, engineering, offshore manufacturing, logistics and site delivery. Proven in day-to-day company operations, resource and recruitment planning, and cash-flow control, including annual budgeting, rolling forecasts and margin management. Skilled in commercial negotiation and contract evaluation (procurement, risk allocation, variations/claims), supplier governance, and QA/QC with full material and weld traceability. Deep familiarity with Australian compliance pathways (NCC/AS, NSW DBP Act) and readiness for SCA CC3, with strong WHSE leadership. Drives DfMA/constructability, interface management and tolerance budgets to reduce rework and protect milestones. Known for clear executive reporting, cross-functional leadership, and building scalable systems that turn strategy, including 5–10-year business development plans, into predictable delivery.
