About

A/Prof Alice Kesminas has a unique combination of industry and academic experience developing digital spatial information solutions with state authorities, federal government, large international corporates, international start-ups and developing research projects between Melbourne University and industry. In these roles A/Prof Kesminas  has designed and developed innovative geospatial systems across geohazard analytics, climate modelling, water, energy, carbon, transport and emergency fields, generating new knowledge and advancing the discipline. A/Prof Kesminas’ s 2018 Thornton Smith medal and position on the Industry Advisory Group for the Geomatics Department and Infrastructure Engineering acknowledge her impact on the sector.

A/Prof Kesminas’ s current role as Enterprise Senior fellow for the Infrastructure Platform involves aligning academic capabilities, gaps in fundamental knowledge, industry challenges and community impact to design research and development collaborations and projects that achieve outcomes in line with the goals of the university. A/Prof Kesminas has extensive experience applying technical expertise to assess opportunities in emerging markets and propose innovative, integrated solutions.

A/Prof Kesminas completed her PhD in 2007 with The University of Melbourne’s School of Engineering and the CRC for Spatial Information, Titled: Automatic Virtual Environments from Spatial Information and Models.
