These positions form part of a significant national research hub, the ARC Research Hub for Resilient and Intelligent Infrastructure Systems (RIIS.org.au). RIIS aims to deliver transformational technologies to address Australia’s critical infrastructure needs. It will integrate advances in sensor technology, connectivity, data analytics, machine learning, robotics, smart materials, and reliable models to deliver resilient and adaptive infrastructure systems in urban, energy, and resource sectors, sectors critical to Australia’s prosperity and well-being.

Value breakdown A full scholarship of $36,161 per annum and up to $20,000 top-up per annum (Australian residents only) depending on qualifications, track record and leadership potential.
Eligibility Domestic applicants only. PhD only.
Entry Requirements and Scholarships
The minimum requirement for admission to a PhD is:
- A UNSW Bachelor degree with first or upper second class Honours from UNSW; or
- a completed Master by Research from UNSW with a substantial research component and demonstrated capacity for timely completion of a high quality research thesis; or
- an equivalent qualification from a tertiary institution as determined by the Faculty Higher Degree Committee (HDC)
The minimum requirement for UNSW Scholarship with admission to a PhD is:
- a four year Bachelor degree with first or upper second class Honours from an Australian institution or equivalent research qualification as above.
