Peyman Mostaghimi

Peyman Mostaghimi is a Professor at the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at UNSW Sydney. His research spans a wide range of areas, including computational fluid dynamics, natural gas, subsurface reservoir simulation, pore-scale modelling of displacement processes, and flow and transport in porous media. His work has applications in energy extraction, mineral recovery, subsurface storage, hydrology, and environmental studies. Professor Mostaghimi earned his PhD from Imperial College London and holds an MSc in Mechanical Engineering with a specialisation in Fluid Mechanics. He also holds dual BSc degrees in Mechanical and Chemical (Reservoir) Engineering from Sharif University of Technology. He has received multiple international recognitions and serves as Chair of the Council for the International Society for Porous Media. He has been recognised among the world’s top 2% of scientists in Energy by Stanford University. He has also been a Senior Fulbright Scholar at Harvard University.
